Meet the Team: Nic Blyth – Brisbane Distribution Centre

At RWW Group, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Each team member brings unique skills, passions, and perspectives that help us deliver on our purpose of empowering workforces for a better world. We’re excited to introduce you to Nic Blyth, from our Brisbane Distribution Centre. Nic’s journey - from precision sewing to uniform and workwear design - reflects not only his creativity and drive to keep learning, but also the collaborative spirit that makes RWW what it is.

From Head Seamster to Product Developer

Nic first joined RWW in 2024 as our Head Seamster, where he handled everything from sewing alterations and adjustments to creating custom name badges, applying protective tape to trousers, and adding extra functionality to garments with precision alterations. He also lent his skills to other departments including embroidery, heat press, QA, and dispatch - showcasing a true team spirit and adaptability.

In 2025, Nic embraced a new challenge as a Uniform & Workwear Designer, a role that’s allowed him to expand his expertise in the textiles industry. He now works closely with manufacturers to create Tech Packs and contributes to the development of our TechniVision range, helping bring innovative products from concept through to production.

“Being part of the TechniVision range has been a really exciting opportunity. I love that I get to help shape products from the very beginning and see them come to life.”

Achievements and Growth

One of Nic’s proudest achievements has been mastering the challenges of working with a wide range of fabrics and fibres. Transitioning from mostly natural fibres to materials like cotton drill, knitted fabrics, and even Velcro for name badges has pushed him to grow both technically and creatively.

“Each fabric has its own personality and challenges. Learning how to adapt my approach has made me grow not only as a seamster, but also as a problem-solver.”

He’s also picked up valuable new skills, including learning to use Illustrator to design Tech Packs, further strengthening his contribution to RWW’s product development.

“Getting hands-on with Illustrator has been a game changer for me - I can now take ideas and turn them into something practical for production.”

What Makes RWW Special

For Nic, what stands out most about RWW is the team culture. The appreciation and recognition he receives for his work motivates him to give his best each day.

“It’s a great feeling to know that my contributions are noticed and make a difference. That recognition motivates me to keep doing my best.”

He also values the trust and creative freedom he’s been given, which empowers him to take ownership of his work and feel deeply connected to RWW’s mission of empowering workforces for a better world.

“Having the flexibility and trust from the team has given me confidence and a real sense of ownership in what I do.”

Beyond Work

Outside of work, Nic is passionate about Auslan (Australian Sign Language). He has long admired the inclusivity and connection that sign language fosters and is excited to begin night school classes this September.

“I’ve always been inspired by the inclusivity Auslan brings. Learning it feels like a way I can give back—by helping bridge communication gaps and supporting the Deaf and hard of hearing community.”

Nic’s progression from seamster to product developer reflects both his personal commitment to growth and the opportunities available within RWW. His technical expertise, adaptability, and collaborative approach have strengthened our team at the Brisbane Distribution Centre and contributed directly to the success of our product development. We look forward to seeing his continued impact as he helps shape the future of our workwear solutions.
